A data protection officer is not legally required and has therefore not been appointed.

2. General information and scope

This website is a private, non-commercial hobby project centred on an Unreal Tournament 2004 game server. I process personal data as sparingly as possible.

This website uses: – NO cookies requiring consent, – NO web analytics or audience measurement, – NO advertising, tracking or social media plugins, – NO newsletter, – NO externally loaded fonts (fonts are served locally from the operator’s own server).

A cookie banner is therefore not required.

3. Hosting and server log files

The website runs on a server managed by the operator himself. The server is located in Germany. The infrastructure provider is Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place. Hosting does not involve any transfer of data to a third country outside the EU/EEA.

Each time the website is accessed, the web server (nginx) automatically records information in server log files: IP address, date and time, requested URL and HTTP status code, referrer (if transmitted), and browser type and operating system (user agent).

Purpose: technical provision, stability and security of the website. Legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in the secure, stable provision of the website.

Retention: generally deleted or anonymised after 7 days at the latest, unless longer storage is required to investigate a specific security incident.

4. Contact (contact form and email)

If you use the contact form, the data you enter is processed: name or nickname, email address, subject/topic and your message. In addition, the usual technical transmission data (see section 3) is generated.

The contact form sends your message to a small processing endpoint operated by the site operator himself, on the same server in Germany, and forwards it to the operator’s private inbox. NO services provided by US third parties are used.

The sole purpose is to handle and respond to your enquiry. Legal basis: if your enquiry is aimed at concluding or performing a (including free-of-charge) usage relationship regarding the game server, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Providing an email address is necessary so that I can reply; all other details are voluntary. Retention: until your enquiry has been fully dealt with, then deleted unless retention obligations apply. You may object at any time.

5. External links

This website links to external services (including forum.xir-clan.com, xir-clan.com, xanton.net, github.com and ut2004:// server links). As soon as you click such a link, data (in particular your IP address) is transmitted to the respective provider. I have no influence over their data processing; their privacy policies apply.

6. Encryption

For security reasons, this website uses TLS/SSL encryption (recognisable by "https://" in your browser’s address bar).

7. Your rights as a data subject

Under the GDPR you have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to withdraw a given consent with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)).

Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): where processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you have the right to object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.

To exercise your rights, an informal message to info@kindler-webservices.de is sufficient.

8. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The competent authority is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany, https://www.lda.bayern.de. You may also contact the authority of your usual place of residence.

9. No automated decision-making

No automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.

10. Changes to this privacy policy

I will amend this privacy policy as soon as changes to the website or the legal situation make this necessary. The version published here, bearing the "Last updated" date above, applies in each case.
